BREAKING: Burglar who killed Royal Navy Officer during robbery CONVICTED of MURDER

A burglar has been convicted of murder for killing Ex-Royal Navy Officer during a robbery in April this year.

Michael Samwell died in April of this year from his injuries while attempting to stop a burglar taking his Audi A3.

Mr Sanwell had tyre marks on his chest from where his car, being driven by the burglar, run him over.

The jury at Manchester crown court took three and half hours to convict Ryan Gibbons, 29, of murder.

According to Mr Samwells wife, she heard him shout “Oi, oi, no, oi, oi! Oh not the fucking car!” during the robbery.

She added: “When I got to him he had tyre marks across his chest,” she said giving evidence earlier this month. “I was shouting, ‘Help! Help! Somebody help me!’ I was just telling him that I loved him and holding his hand.”

Murderer, Ryan Gibbons denied murder and manslaughter. He did, however, plead guilty to burglary and aggravated assault.

Mr Gibbons insisted he did not see his victim before running him over.
