Can you identify this famous Scottish politician from this photo that was taken when she was just a wee nipper?
We’ll give you a clue: She is someone who feels strongly that Scotland should be an independent nation.
Here’s another clue: She suffers from hearing difficulties, and has trouble understanding the word ‘no’ and the phrase ‘stronger together.’
Have you got it yet? That’s right! The little child in the picture grew up to be none other than Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland and leader of the Scottish National Party.
Her childhood friend Hamish McDanish told Your Brexit: ‘I always thought that she was an odd one, and she used to come out with some very strange things when I went round her house to play dollies and tea parties.’
‘I remember one day when we were sitting outside in the garden, and she turned her head to me and said ‘we will be an independent nation one day’ before turning her head again and again like some kind of deranged owl.’
‘She then pulled the heads off all of my sister’s dolls and kept cackling to herself.’
‘When she was a bit older, she knocked on my door and asked me if I wanted to go to the pictures – I was busy at the time and I wanted to stay at home so I declined her invitation.’
‘I thought that was the end of it, but she knocked again ten minutes later and just asked me again as she was convinced that my situation had changed somehow.’
‘When I refused again, I went and hid in the basement for a few days as I just knew that she would keep knocking until she got the answer that she wanted.’
