The US President has reconfirmed his support for the United Kingdom and the relationship he has with Theresa May.
In an interview with Piers Morgan, Donald Trump was asked if he thought the Government was in a “good position” as talks move on to trade.
He replied: “Would it be the way I negotiate?
“No, I wouldn’t negotiate it the way it’s negotiated. I would have had a different attitude.”
Mr Trump said: “I would have said that the European Union is not cracked up to what it’s supposed to be.
“I would have taken a tougher stand in getting out.
“You know, I have a lot of problems with the European Union. I’m representing the United States, it’s a very unfair situation. We cannot get our product in. It’s very, very tough.
“And yet they send their product to us – no taxes, very little taxes. It’s very unfair.
“I’ve had a lot of problems with European Union, and it may morph into something very big from that standpoint, from a trade standpoint.
“The European Union has treated the United States very unfairly when it comes to trade.
“They’re not the only one, by the way. I could name many countries and places that do.
“But the European Union has been very, very unfair to the United States. And I think it will turn out to be very much to their detriment.”
It’s great to see a standing US president speak the truth about the European Union and back Britain leaving.
Mr Trump gave his reason why he believed the UK would vote to leave the EU: “I said because of trade, but mostly immigration, Brexit is going to be a big upset. And I was right.
“I know the British people and understand them.
“They don’t want people coming from all over the world into Britain, they don’t know anything about these people.”
Donald Trump just DESTROYED everyone in Britain who doesn’t like him
As you may now be aware, the President of the United States Of America Donald Trump is going to be visiting the United Kingdom later this year, and he has just issued a short and sharp smackdown to everyone in our country who doesn’t like him.
When asked in an interview about people in Britain who are opposed to his policies or simply do not like him, he just said, ‘I don’t care!’
According to a report in The Mirror:
Donald Trump has declared “I don’t care!” what British protesters think of him as he prepares for his first visit to the UK.
The US President issued the blunt rebuke after Downing Street confirmed he will finally touch down for a ‘working visit’ later this year.
Prime Minister Theresa May – who met Trump yesterday at the World Economic Forum in Davos – had promised the billionaire Republican a full State Visit, including meeting the Queen, in 2017.
That trip remains on hold after Trump reportedly refused to turn up if he was met by embarrassing street protests.
Yet today the President was defiant.
Asked for his message to those who disagree with him, he told ITV’s Good Morning Britain: “I don’t care. I don’t care!
“It’s just one of those things, I don’t say anything. You know why? I don’t care.”
We already knew that Trump wouldn’t be overly bothered about a hostile reception when he arrives in the UK.
After all, he is constantly attacked by his own people across the Atlantic, and he simply gets on with the job in hand.
We have to say that we are looking forward to his visit later this year – if only to watch the lefties suffer a collective butthurt the likes of which this country has never witnessed before.
