The owner of a Facebook page praising the Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg has told their followers that they have been visited by two police officers who provided ‘advice’ that included a warning to stop posting content that is ‘critical of Islam.’
According to an update on the page called The Church Of Mogg, the page itself was frozen by Facebook for two weeks, and the owner was advised that they could face arrest for ‘hate crimes’ if any further content of that nature is posted in the future.
Perhaps one of the most worrying parts of the Facebook post is that they say they have no idea how the local police obtained his details without some sort of court order or similar legal action.
At the time of writing, this question remains unsolved.
The post states:
As you will all now all be aware, I was visited last week by two local police officers who wished to provide ‘words of advice’ regarding supposed Islamophobic content posted onto this page, which was itself locked and suspended for a fortnight.
The officers themselves were polite and reasonable enough, however their message was somewhat chilling: it was insinuated that if I continued to post material which could be considered critical of Islam or offensive to the practices of Muslims, I could potentially be arrested for ‘hate crimes.’
Equally chilling was that I have no idea how they obtained my personal information and they weren’t willing to disclose this information during their visit.
On the advice of some patrons of this page I have this morning submitted a formal complaint to the IPCC and also made written enquiries to the Police and Crime Commissioner to try and get answers.
I will of course keep you all updated with the progress of these enquiries.
Thank you all for your kind words, messages and patronage. It has been very helpful.
While we agree with the general sentiment that there is no place for outright hate speech and Islamophobic on social media, or indeed in any other walk of life, it is concerning to see the phrase ‘critical of Islam’ being used.
Surely it is acceptable for any religion to be criticised, provided that comments do not stray into ‘hate’ or ‘racism.’
Jacob Rees-Mogg pulls apart the Customs Union in a historic speech – ‘IT’S A RACKET’
The Conservative MP and Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg has managed to destroy the whole idea of the Customs Union in a single, devastating speech.
With so many people spreading tales of utter doom about what will happen after the United Kingdom leaves this element of the European Union’s structure, it is refreshing to see Rees-Mogg pull the Customs Union apart piece by piece and expose it for what it really is.
He even goes so far as saying that the whole thing is a ‘racket,’ and once again he has to be admired for sticking his head up above the ‘parapet’ and just saying it how it is.
The caption to the video by Political G reads: “The customs union is a racket that defends producers in rich countries,” meaning the poorest consumers are worse off, says Jacob Rees-Mogg.
It makes you wonder why so many people are falling over themselves to force Britain to somehow remain inside it as part of some sort of ‘half assed’ Brexit.
More to the point, he uses an example to show how the Customs Union puts significant duties on food, clothing and footwear, and he then makes the point that it is the poorest people in society who spend the highest proportion of their income on these items.
Hardly sounds like the opinions of someone who is ‘against the poor.’
If you listen to those who refuse to be swept up by the wave of Moggmentum, you will hear that JRM is ‘old fashioned, dangerous and elitist,’ when the true story is that he is just beyond the bullsh*t that is peddled by everyone else.

The Brexiteer politician Jacob Rees-Mogg has made it perfectly clear that Theresa May and the British government should not be bullied into paying a Brexit Divorce Bill by the European Union’s top negotiators.
Rees-Mogg was blasting the recent actions of Michel Barnier who has insisted upon a two-week deadline for the United Kingdom to give solid details about the financial settlement and other key details.
Yet again he is stepping up and standing up for the interests of the British people who are constantly subjected to ‘Project Fear II’ about how bad it would apparently be to leave the EU without a deal in place.
According to a report in The Express:
Responding to the apparent threat, Mr Rees-Mogg told Sky News: “The British Government shouldn’t be bullied by the European Union’s negotiating tactics.
“We have a very strong card in terms of money, if we leave without a deal we don’t owe them anything at all.
“And, that leaves an enormous hole in the EU budget, indeed, it’s probably not solvent during the final 21 months of the multi-annual finance framework.
“Our position is very strong and we should remind them of that, and we should not give in to their threats.”
The Conservative MP for North East Somerset added it was EU officials who had decided Brexit must be negotiated in a certain order.
He insisted there is “no reason” for the EU to “damage their own interests by refusing to move on” in the negotiations.
Mr Rees-Mogg concluded: “We have got to remember this is British taxpayers’ money.
“This week, Simon Stevens has called for the money to go to the NHS. So, there is a political choice, do we give lots of money corrupt EU schemes or do we spend it at home on our own domestic priorities.”
Here’s another classic recent example of Rees-Mogg To The Rescue!
Conservative backbencher, Jacob Rees-Mogg voiced his anger at the treasuries awful Brexit stance and negative predictions which have not come to light.
Appearing on Question Time Mr Rees-Mogg said: “This is such an opportunity. When we leave we can set our own tariffs.
“Tariffs set at the European level make food, clothing and footwear more expensive. They are the highest proportion for the poorest in society’s expenditure.
If we can get rid of those tariffs we help the worse off in society. That is a real benefit.”
Presenter David Dimbleby said: “Why does your Chancellor of the Exchequer not accept this and sound so gloomy?”
Mr Rees-Mogg replied: “Because all the Treasury forecasts assume that instead of cutting tariffs on the rest of the world, we raise tariffs against the EU.
“That is completely insane. The Treasury’s forecasts are even worse than the Bank of England’s.”
The Sunday Express political editor also hit out at the Bank of England governor for his Brexit stance.
Ms Tominey said: “There have been five consecutive periods of growth. Growth is up 1.9 percent which is not what the Project Fear brigade were predicting.
“On Brexit in general, BBC bias, I think there are only two Brexiters on this panel and three Remainers. I don’t know whether you’ve had a panel that is majority Brexit, David.
“But I suggest that when we speak to our readers, both sides of the demographic divide mostly people just say: ‘Will you get on with it? Just get on with Brexit. Stop posturing, stop fighting between yourselves.’
“And, you know, the notion of it being a minority as well. Overwhelmingly people in Parliament people voted for the referendum in the first place. Overwhelmingly in Parliament people voted to trigger Article 50 – overwhelmingly.
“80 per cent or more of the electorate voted for parties that supported Brexit, so just do it.’
