TfL issues statement after poppy seller is ‘moved on’ at London Ruislip station

An image circulating Facebook appears to show a ‘TFL Compliance officer’ telling an old lay selling poppies at Ruislip station to ‘move on’.

We are unable to confirm the legitimacy of this story, however, Transport for London has issued a statement which can be read below.

The Facebook post can be seen below.

The post states: “Big up for this outstanding TFL Conpliance Officer for telling the old lady selling poppies at Ruislip Station to move on. This jobsworth piece of crap should hang his ugly head in shame. Share the hell out this and make him famous.”

The TFL statement reads:

“TfL is very proud of our relationship with the armed forces and has a longstanding relationship with the British Legion who we support on London Poppy Day each year. No one has been prevented from selling poppies at Ruislip station.”

I can’t see anything wrong with an elderly lady spending her time outside a train station selling poppies for a good cause. Can you see anything wrong with that?
